Spring update!
Churn Vector » Devlog
Hello agents, it's spring time here and what better way to celebrate than with a new update!
We've been hard at work on some new content for you to sink your teeth into as well as a bunch of tweaks to how characters see and move within the game world.
Happy spring hunting agents!
8d9b39de changes:
- Added a new map, Tower! (Surely this will be a simple mission, right?)
- Added a new pred enemy, the Maned Wolf! (Find them within the new map.)
- Added foliage to some maps. It's spring!
- Added a new visibility indicator to the HUD
- Visibility is now in discrete levels. From 1x to 4x. Sprinting while holding someone gives you max visibility. Having larger balls permanently increases your visibility.
- There is now a small buffer before NPCs begin to notice you. This prevents the audio/VFX "tickling" that happens when just briefly being visible.
- Minimum and maximum detection time for NPCs has been drastically shortened. To help overcome the buffer, and to make them more predictable.
- NPC count has been reduced for most maps because they are now much better at seeing the player
- Characters now face where they're sprinting rather than where they're looking.
- Moved the Player's spawn on City, and made the objective more obvious with some lighting.
- Fixed audio VFX from not spawning due to not being included in the build.
- Loading a level quickly renders 60 frames of various locations to reduce stutter while playing.
- Characters now lean into which way they're moving. This negatively affects FPS mode a bit, but overall feels worth it.
- Jumping no longer temporarily breaks NPC pathfinding.
- NPCs will now turn left and right while searching for the player.
- Fixed a few cases where NPCs would get softlocked trying to path to an unreachable area. (Staying at a high alert level.)
- Fixed issue with splurting inside of objects causing clipping.
- Fixed a bunch of broken NPC idle/sit stations on most maps
We know that some of you will be disappointed in the NPC count reduction and while we are still figuring out how to maximize the fun, we're hopeful this can be addressed in a future update.

Just recently bought the game myself and I'm absolutely loving it! the mechanics, the sounds and the AI is IMPRESSIVE for an indie game (i was genuinely shocked when they dragged a sack to the machine to revive them) and a nice little game to kill time. the main issue for me though is the lack of a quicksave system, If I could possibly make a suggestion, perhaps when you use a certain type or relief object, the game will save your progress? Another idea (this is just me giving suggestions, i know what a pain it can be to update a game with new features) but perhaps a sort of sandbox mode could be unlocked upon completing the main campaign that allows you to choose from different characters based on preds in the main game (i REALLY love the maned wolf design)
I would like to ask if there are other types of vore on the roadmap, would love to see some OV (not much of a fan of disposal myself, but maybe you find a bathroom and fade to black for a few secs, or just full absorption. if anything, maybe it could be a sandbox-only feature. and of course, gotta suggest a skulldog character. maybe a Halloween mode as a reverse horror game or something, completely up to you guys. this is just me throwing ideas around, you guys already have a wonderful game on your hands!
All in all, thank you so much for your hard work (no pun intended) on this project and wish you the best going forward!
im happy you updated the game. good work.
I like this update, though the new level makes me wish for the ability to quicksave
The update is just great. I'm looking forward to the next updates. And if there is still a new campaign and new main characters with their members who can be chosen, there will be a BOMB at all!
Just in case anyone is wondering NO Dragon boss is not fixed yet she still can home in on the player. In fact she ended up in the kitchen and as I was coming up behind her she immediately turns around reacting to me even though she did not know I was there and started coming after me. I crawled away and hid in a locker after breaking line of sight and guess what she did? She beelines for that locker and grabbed me forcing me to restart.
It was then I knew the devs had done absolutely nothing to adjust her behaviors to where she's a challenge but fair and fun. I'm not at all against there being a challenge such as a predator like her or others but their A.I must be fair and balanced. Heck I'd love for there to be a female predator in the future. I'll keep trying to have fun but it's hard to when the game acts like this and I'm sure this was a problem in the past and yet it got fixed.
Edit: fixed spelling errors
Omg amazing work!! Im just so darn happy another pred is coming! Would be fore to glhave an OC of mine as one in there lmao. Who knows in the future
